Chant anglais (appelé “shanty”) à hisser, il servait à border la voile de misaine, border c’est ramener la voile le plus prêt du bord du bateau, et la misaine c’est la voile basse sur le mât avant.
Vous entendez dans la chanson les fins de phrases avec un petit ‘oh!’ accentué, et bien cette exclamation correspond à l’effort fourni par les matelots pour border ensemble cette grande voile.
